The Essential Native Ozark Bees

Join us for an informative and entertaining presentation by University of Arkansas Professor of Entomology Don Steinkraus. In this two hour workshop you will learn why bees are important for maintaining a healty environment and economy but also what you can do to help attract and create habitat for native Ozark bees in your own back yard.

Don Steinkraus has a Ph.D. from Cornell University and has been a professor at the University of Arkansas for 30 years. Fascinated by insects since he was five years old, Don has a small farm in West Fork where he attempts to remove invasive plants and replace them with native flowers, shrubs, and trees. He loves all arthropods except ticks, chiggers, and red wasps.
