Spring Fiber Arts Festival

Saturday, May 19, 10am – 2pm

Presented by Tammy Watkins

Join us as Ozark Folkways returns to its roots with a day of fiber-related crafts.

There will be demonstrations of spinning fiber, weaving, and lacemaking. We will have an old-fashioned knitting circle that folks can join in. Contemporary spinners, weavers, and lace makers will be on hand, as well, demonstrating and teaching.

If you are interested you can come and watch and ask questions. If you have some experience but have questions or need someone to walk you through a few steps, bring your supplies and join in the fun. Bring your spinning wheel and raw fiber, your thread for needle tatting, shuttle tatting or your pillow for bobbin lace. Bring your yarn and knitting needles or crochet hooks and join the circle. Bring your quilt pieces and do some hand quilting.

If you are interested and would like some individual tutoring, pre-register in your area of interest. It is better to bring your own supplies but we will have some supplies on hand.

There will be workshops in Needle Tatting, Shuttle Tatting, Bobbin Lace, Spinning, Weaving, and Knitting, each with one session at 11am, and another at 1pm. Six different crafts, two sessions each: participants can sign up for a morning class in one craft, and an afternoon session in another!
