Natural Health Educator Jenny Dietzel will teach methods for transforming herbs into medicines and foods including infusions, decoctions, oils, salves, tinctures, vinegars, liniments and more, which help preserve our valuable plants and offer a convenient and pleasing way to get them into or onto the body.
Sourcing, proper harvesting, drying, and storing of herbs will also be discussed so that you can maximize the shelf life of your valuable herbs. She will cover several herbal formulas that can be used as they are or adapted for your own purposes.
Participants will combine our own ingredients to make a turmeric tonic vinegar extract to take home. While it has powerful medicinal qualities, it also makes an amazing dressing or marinade for cooking and we’ll discuss its herbal super powers as well.
Please bring a knife and small cutting board for chopping onions, garlic, and ginger and adding powdered turmeric.
Seats are available for $20 per person, which includes materials. Class is limited to 15 people. Tickets are non-refundable. (In the event that you are unable to use your ticket we will make every effort to resell your ticket and refund your money, but if we can’t find someone to purchase the seat, there will be no refund.)
