Presented by Erin Chapman and Tracie Slattery
During the course of the week, through a series of guided activities, students will design and build a a make-believe village.
The fun will begin with students learning the basic concepts, planning and designing their houses, and collecting materials.
Students will then create three-dimensional characters to inhabit their houses under the direction of artist Madison Woods, and develop stories for their characters.
By Friday, each student will have designed, built, and decorated a “Wildwood Home” to be incorporated into the village, complete with inhabitants; the Wildwood Village itself will be situated among the trees bordering the meadow behind the Ozark Folkways building.
Community and parents will be invited to a twilight pot-luck/wiener roast on Friday evening, during which students will give guided tours through the village.
Cost is $30 per child (limited to 16 participants)
The morning activities will include a snack-break midway through the session. Snacks and materials will be provided.
Tickets are non-refundable. (For events like this we have to buy materials, food, and other items in advance of the event, expenses that we can’t recoup if we provide refunds.
