It’s Your Story, Get Close to It (Part One)

$125.00

Although writing well ultimately requires the apprenticeship of craft (see the other classes offered), all the craft in the world won’t help you without an understanding of the process of writing, and the role fear and misgiving play in that process. A Fearless Writing™ Exploration will give you that understanding; and, from there, dismantle self-doubt just enough so that you can start, continue, and finish. This is a transformational workshop for writers, non-writers, and would-be writers alike.

A Fearless Writing Exploration

Saturday, March 16, 1-4pm

Presented by Crescent Dragonwagon

As human beings and as writers we sometimes find ourselves stopped. By doubt in our own abilities, unexpected change, demands on our time, illness, unfamiliar economic, technological, or social conditions. And, who cares what we have to say, anyway?

For over two decades Crescent Dragonwagon’s weekend-long immersive Fearless Writing™ workshop has been offering writers and non-writers a way to stop being stopped. The approach harnesses anxiety as a powerful creative force.

Practical, effective, serious and playful, Fearless turns seemingly insurmountable obstacles into material — from which we write, and build all-around thriving lives. Its practices and principles spill over, cornucopia-like: from writing, to creativity, to problem solving, to business and personal life.

For those who aren’t sure about a whole weekend (and, perhaps, aren’t sure of their own abilities), but want to sample this approach, Exploration offers an exuberant and liberating taste.

Cost is $125. We will be writing in class, so please bring a spiral notebook and several pens with which you enjoy writing. Laptops are optional; generally, we suggest their use only if writing by hand is uncomfortable for you. Class size limited to 20. Ages 16 and up, please. Tickets are non-refundable. (In the event that you are unable to use your ticket we will make every effort to resell your ticket and refund your money, but if we can’t find someone to purchase the seat, there will be no refund.)
