Oaxacan Tamales

Learn to make healthy and delicious traditional Oaxacan tamales from Alejandro Ayala of Fayetteville’s Axis Lounge.

Tamales originated in Mesoamerica 5000-8000 years ago and were considered sacred. Oaxacan tamales are wrapped in banana leaves and Alejandro makes his with local pork and chicken, organic non-GMO corn, and coconut oil.

Tickets are $30 per person and include instruction, material, and a four-pack of tamales to take home. The event will be limited to 25 participants. Tickets are non-refundable. (In the event that you are unable to use your ticket we will make every effort to resell your ticket and refund your money, but if we can’t find someone to purchase the seat, there will be no refund.)
