Make an Ocarina!

Saturday, September 22, 11am – 2pm

Presented by Kathy Keen

Ages 12 and older.

Come out and make an ocarina (clay whistle!). Believed to date back over 12,000 years, these ancient wind instruments are typically made of clay and fun to play for amateurs and pros alike!

You’ll need a tennis ball, an X-acto knife (or something very similar), and a nail file.

Please see the photo for supplies to bring:

  • tennis ball
  • metal fingernail file
  • X-acto knife with pointy blade

You will need to return at a later date (Sunday, October 7th) to either glaze or pick up your piece. If you choose to glaze your ocarina it will require a second firing and later pick up.

Tickets are $25 per person, which includes clay, firing, and glazing. Bring lunch or snacks and drinks.

Class is limited to 8 participants. Tickets are non-refundable. (In the event that you are unable to use your ticket we will make every effort to resell your ticket and refund your money, but if we can’t find someone to purchase the seat, there will be no refund.)

To purchase tickets, just CLICK HERE.

All tickets must be purchased prior to the workshop and the number is limited, so call today! (Ticket cost is non-refundable and is viewed as a donation to Ozark Folkways.) If you are unable to make the class, please let us know as soon as possible, so we can offer the open spot to others.
