Introduction to Blacksmithing

Saturday, February 9, 9am – 4pm

Join Blacksmith Jay Sanders from J6 Forge for a fascinating introduction to blacksmithing.

Participants will learn the fundamentals of blacksmithing including theory, safety and equipment basics, how to operate a forge and manipulate metals and how to draw out your material. After a lunch break (brown-bag it or head over to Grandma’s Cafe for some down-home country cooking) students will make hand-forged horseshoe hearts, a perfect gift for that special Valentine!

Students will need to bring leather gloves that fit, leather boots and safety glasses. Please remember that safety is your responsibility!

Seats are available for $50 per person, which includes instruction and materials. Class is limited to 10 people. Tickets are non-refundable. (In the event that you are unable to use your ticket we will make every effort to resell your ticket and refund your money, but if we can’t find someone to purchase the seat, there will be no refund.)
